Mehlman says immigration “is not a victimless crime.”
Roozbeh Farahanipour is an Iranian nationalist writer and journalist. He was granted amnesty by the United States following his involvement in an Iranian pro-democracy uprising in 1999. He says, “When you’re living in a country where you’re free, you can never put yourself in the shoes of someone who lived under an oppressive government.”
He says giving up some civil liberties for the promise of better security is “a small price to pay.”
